1. Basic Navigation Shortcuts

For Windows:

  • Ctrl + C – Copy the selected item.

  • Ctrl + V – Paste the copied item.

  • Ctrl + X – Cut the selected item.

  • Ctrl + Z – Undo your last action.

  • Ctrl + Y – Redo your last undone action.

  • Alt + Tab – Switch between open apps.

  • Windows + D – Show or hide the desktop.

For Mac:

  • Command + C – Copy the selected item.

  • Command + V – Paste the copied item.

  • Command + X – Cut the selected item.

  • Command + Z – Undo your last action.

  • Command + Shift + Z – Redo your last undone action.

  • Command + Tab – Switch between open apps.

  • Command + F3 – Show or hide the desktop.


2. Window Management Shortcuts

For Windows:

  • Windows + Left Arrow – Snap the active window to the left half of the screen.

  • Windows + Right Arrow – Snap the active window to the right half of the screen.

  • Alt + F4 – Close the active window or program.

For Mac:

  • Command + M – Minimize the active window.

  • Command + W – Close the active window.

  • Command + Q – Quit the active application.


3. Web Browsing Shortcuts

For Windows:

  • Ctrl + T – Open a new tab.

  • Ctrl + W – Close the current tab.

  • Ctrl + Shift + T – Reopen the last closed tab.

  • Ctrl + L – Highlight the URL in the address bar.

For Mac:

  • Command + T – Open a new tab.

  • Command + W – Close the current tab.

  • Command + Shift + T – Reopen the last closed tab.

  • Command + L – Highlight the URL in the address bar.


4. Text Editing Shortcuts

For Windows:

  • Ctrl + A – Select all items or text.

  • Ctrl + B – Bold the selected text.

  • Ctrl + I – Italicize the selected text.

  • Ctrl + U – Underline the selected text.

For Mac:

  • Command + A – Select all items or text.

  • Command + B – Bold the selected text.

  • Command + I – Italicize the selected text.

  • Command + U – Underline the selected text.


5. Screenshot Shortcuts

For Windows:

  • Windows + Print Screen – Take a full-screen screenshot and save it to your Pictures folder.

  • Alt + Print Screen – Capture a screenshot of the active window.

For Mac:

  • Command + Shift + 3 – Take a full-screen screenshot.

  • Command + Shift + 4 – Capture a selected area of the screen.
